It's expected €58m will be left over.

The Irish Farmers Association is urging the Department of Agriculture to keep leftover funding from the Fuel Income Support Scheme in the sector.

Funds of €85m was agreed in the wake of nationwide blockades earlier this year, with the first round of payments made recently.

That is expected to total to approximately €27m according to the Department, leaving up to €58m available after this round.
