IFA Warns Of ‘Seismic’ Impact On Young Farmers If Nitrates Derogation Ends

A vote on the issue is scheduled for December 9th.

If Ireland's nitrates derogation is not extended it will have a 'seismic' impact on young farmers.

IFA President Francie Gorman is making the point as the European Commission is set to vote on the issue on December 9th.

Conditions of the extension include environmental assessments to show farmers are meeting required standards set by the EU's Habitats Directive.
