Excuses and broken promises - that's all the government has to offer when it comes to vacant houses according to Sinn Fein.
Figures obtained by the party show there's 43 vacant council homes in Westmeath from a total stock of 2,362.
The figure in Laois is 31 from a total of 2,488.
Offaly County Council is one of three local authorities yet to provide information.
