Influencers Could Face Backlash Over Paid Covid Messages

That's the view of an MD of a Westmeath based social media business.

There's a fear influencers could be put off working with the government because of a potential backlash from their followers. 

The Taoiseach and HSE is considering using social media personalities to filter their covid-19 message through to a younger audience. 

Managing Director of Mullingar based Social Media Elite, Conor Cochrane says the target group of 16-24 won't welcome influencers being paid for their services. 

However he does believe it can be a successful strategy if applied correctly:
