Minister Jennifer Murnane O'Connor is launching a number of reports and intiatives this week.
The Minister with responsibility for the National Drugs Strategy is announcing additional funding for the national DRIVE project.
The initiative, which stands for Drug Related Intimidation and Violence Engagement, aims to support people dealing with the stigma of drug-related crime in a confidential and supportive way.
Minister Jennifer Murnane O'Connor is also launching a new report on drug prevention in Ireland along with the establishment of a new drug prevention lead post for the Midlands region.
The report shows there were more evidence-based drug prevention interventions in the Dublin and Midlands region than anywhere else in the country.
She says each region has specific requirements, and her department is working to support each one on its own merits:
