A number of shots were fired at a home in Laurels Estate, Tullow Road in Carlow yesterday evening, between 5.30 and 6.30pm.
The front window was damaged in the incident, but no injuries have been reported.
It's understood those who fired the shots fled in a car.
The scene has been preserved for a technical exam.
Anyone with any information is being asked to contact Carlow Garda Station.
Investigations are ongoing.
