Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene following reports of an incident of criminal damage by fire that occurred at a house in the Battery Heights area in Athlone in the early hours of this morning.
Fire services extinguished the fire and the scene was preserved for technical examination.
No serious injuries have been reported.
