Ireland’s Horticultural Sector Warns 18,000 Jobs Could Be Under Threat

Up to 18,000 jobs linked to Ireland’s horticultural sector could be under threat.

Growing Media Ireland is calling on Ministers to deliver long-promised reforms and put in place an effective system that safeguards employment and enables sustainable production.

The Irish horticultural sector requires 600 hectares to satisfy domestic demand, with the sector contributing €644 million to agricultural output in 2025, supporting 7,000 primary production jobs.
