The country's asylum system needs to be more heavily funded to speed up the process, according to a former member of Free Legal Advice Centres.
Aoife Masterson, who's a Sinn Féin candidate for Offaly County Council, also claims people who are refused asylum in Ireland are frustrated because they can't find a viable option to return to their home country.
It comes as the Justice Department is preparing to charter flights for deportations.
