Guide Dogs are being celebrated across the Midlands today.
Guide Dogs Day is the biggest fundraiser of the year for Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind, which is marking 50 years since its foundation.
In Westmeath, collections will take place across Athlone at the Golden Island Shopping Centre from 10am to 6pm.
Other locations include Sean’s Bar, Beans & Leaves cafe, Wineport, and The Hairy Godmother dog grooming, and on Saturday from 10am to 6pm in Athlone Town Centre.
In Laois, the Portlaoise branch is celebrating its 40th anniversary with an information stand at the Laois Shopping Centre.
