Irish Rural Link Calls For Non-Music Festivals To Be Give Financial Support

The CEO believes those local festivals are the life and soul of communities.

Irish Rural Link says small, local festivals need funding to ensure they survive the Covid catastrophe. 

It comes as commercial festival organisers and venues received 25m euro under the Live Performance Support Scheme. 

CEO Seamus Boland wants agri shows, food festivals, sports evenings and events to receive similar supports. 

He says they're the life and soul of communities and should be protected and preserved:
