Irish Startups Received €27.6m From Enterprise Ireland

Enterprise Minister Peter Burke says the figures are being shown as part of 'Start-Up' Day.

Irish start-ups have received €27.6 million in support from Enterprise Ireland.

The government agency says they've invested in 157 companies, 12 of which are from the Midlands and Mid-East regions, over the course of 2024.

The start-ups included 90 high potential operations, 69 pre-seed start fund investments were made, while 45 women-led companies were backed by Enterprise Ireland last year.

2024 marked the final year of the agency's three-year strategy ‘Leading in a Changing World 2022 -2024’ and in that period over 78 million euro was invested in start-up companies.

Minister for Enterprise, Tourism and Employment Peter Burke TD, said: “Start- Up Day is about celebrating the spirit of Irish entrepreneurship. The strong pipeline of innovative start-ups emerging over the last three years demonstrates the extraordinary resilience and business ambition of Irish-founded start-up teams, particularly against the backdrop of a challenging global economic period.
