TUS SU President Dara Lenihan says students are paying up to €850 a month for accommodation on the Athlone Campus.
Students are paying similar fees for accommodation in Westmeath as those in Dublin.
That's according to President of the TUS Student Union Dara Lenihan following reports revealing that students are set to be pay up to just under €12,000 annually for student accommodation for the new college year.
Prices in the Midlands college are ranging from €600-€850 a month for accommodation, which could see students having to pay over €10,000 in fees.
With the new college year set to commence in the next month, students are under pressure to find somewhere to live that they can afford.
