The 33-year-old was handed a mandatory life sentence last week for the murder of school teacher Ashling Murphy in Tullamore in January 2022.
The Irish Independent reports he was initially brought to Cloverhill Prison, but has since been moved to the institution in Portlaoise.
It also says Mr. Puska is being checked on every 15 minutes.
