Robert Troy chose not to report the matter to the Gardaí.
Junior Minster Robert Troy says own office has been the subject of a direct threat.
He says he decided against reporting it to gardaí on the basis the threat came from someone who gave their own name and address on the correspondance.
It comes as Gardaí say they're stepping up their security efforts after a number officers, politicians, and Defence Force personel were threatened during the fuel price protests earlier this month.
