Trinity College Dublin is the only Irish university to be included in the world's top 100.
The 2023 QS world rankings of 1,400 universities put Trinity in 98th place.
Other Irish universities went down in the rankings, with UCD in 181st place and NUI Galway 270th.
The newly-established Technological University of the Shannon was not included in this year's study.
