Labour Party Calling For Establishment Of Rent Register

Monthly rental costs rose by over 7% in the final quarter of last year.

Renters should be able to see what a previous tenant paid before signing a lease on a new home. 

The Labour party is demanding a rent register be set up, and its wider Renters Rights Bill is published. 

Monthly rental costs rose again by 7.6% in the final three months of last year according to figures from the Residential Tenancy Board.

Rents in the midlands rose by over 2% in the fourth quarter of 2022 - the average cost is now €1,036.
