A mural created by Abbeyleix's Aileen Donovan was showcased alongside 40 other pieces.

A Laois artists work has been showcased on a billboard in New York's Times Square.

A mural by Abbeyleix artist Aileen Donovan, created for the Laois Beekeeping Association's new apiary in Tullyroe was featured.

The artwork depicts the patron saint of bees, and celebrates the local landscape, beekeepers and community.

Aileen submitted an image of the finished work to a global art exhibition, where it was selected alongside 40 other pieces to be featured.

Ms Donovan says she hopes her success will inspire others to seize opportunities:
