"A Frayed Knot" will premiere in Portlaoise this December.
A Laois film based on how we talk about ageing and mortality will be used in future community education events.
"A Frayed Knot" tells the story of a man struggling through ill health and trying to navigate his future with his family.
The production is being made with the support of the Portlaoise Lions Club.
Its members are presenting an official cheque at 7:30pm this evening at the Midlands Park Hotel.
The film will premiere at Dunamaise Arts Centre in Portlaoise in December, and then be shown in hospitals, care homes, and colleges.
