Cafes will be offered extra funding to host late night youth events in Laois this Halloween.
Laois County Council is holding the second wave of the Cafe Evening Opening scheme for cafes in Portlaoise to stay open past 6pm on Friday October 31st.
It's part of a national initiative to diversify and boost the nighttime economy, with live band performances, spoken word, book clubs, workshops and themed nights encouraged.
Applications close at 5 pm on Monday 27th October.
