A number of appeals have been made to An Bord Pleanála.
A community campaigning against two IPAS centres in Laois will be holding an information meeting to help objectors register their observations on the plans online.
Laois County Council is granting approval for the conversion of both Peadar's and Lennon's Bar on Durrow's Mary Street into accommodation for international protection applicants.
It comes amid widespread opposition from people living in the town, with many objectors saying the town lacked the capacity for the arrival of refugees.
