42 Ukrainian families moved into Rathdowney in December 2023.
A Laois community is being praised for embracing 42 Ukrainian families into its town.
Councillor John King believes the project in Rathdowney where modular homes were built for Ukrainian refugees, is a success two and a half years on.
He is an advocates of the initiative, that involves children attending the local schools and English classes.
