Almost €9k has been raised by the "Durrow IPAs Appeal Fund".
People are coming together in Laois to raise funds to fight against plans for two IPAS centres in the county.
The "Durrow IPAs Appeal Fund" has already raised €8,800 euro of its €15,000 target over the course of the last three weeks.
Laois County Council has given conditional approval to applicant Mark Lennon to convert both Peadar's and Lennon's Bar on Durrow's Mary Street.
Durrow Community Council says the money raised will be used to engage professional services to facilitate their appeal against the plans which were subject to hundreds of objections during the initial application phase.
