We need to reduce reliance on Assisted Housing Bodies in order to increase affordable housing for first time owners.
That's according to Laois councillor Aisling Moran.
Schemes like the Capital Advanced Leasing Facility provide loans of up to 30% of the cost for developers for buying and building social housing, for it to be leased longterm to county councils.
The Graiguecullen Portarlington rep feels the exemption money under the scheme is driving up housing costs
