Sinn Féin nominated six candidates this morning.
Recent general and local election candidate Maria McCormack has been nominated to contest in Seanad elections.
Sinn Féin has nominated six candidates and Ms. McCormack was selected by the party this morning.
Ms McCormack found herself in the eye of a political storm in Laois this year after Deputy Brian Stanley left the party following an internal investigation.
She was selected by Sinn Fein to run in the O'Moore County in his place, finishing fourth behind Mr. Stanley who took the last seat in the constituency.
The Ballyroan woman also failed to secure a seat in the Portlaoise area in June's local elections.
