Labour's Marie Tuohy is among the local councillors suggesting he address the next meeting with plans and policies.
She says the repeated failure to meet housing targets and deal with the ongoing problem is adding to the housing shortage and homelessness across the Country.
Laois is now the county with the highest house prices in the region as it is seeing a 22.4% increase from the first quarter of last year.
