A Fine Gael Councillor wants the Housing Minister to introduce a temporary pause on all large wind farm developments.
Borris In Ossory/Mountmellick rep John King and Independent Councilllor Ollie Clooney are also calling for updated guidelines on wind farm projects.
The current guidelines have been in place since 2006, with a new draft set issued in 2019.
It follows calls of various action groups across the county seeking to overturn such submissions in their communities, such as 'No To Seskin' on the Laois-Kilkenny border.
