Laois County Council Defers Decision On Changes To Property Tax

Laois County Council has deferred its decision on changes to local property tax.

It was scheduled for discussion at the July meeting of the council today.

However, reps have decided to consider the issue in private before holding a public meeting.

It comes as homeowners will be revaluing their homes later this year.

Cathaoirleach Conor Bergin says it's an unusual year in terms of property tax perhaps the most important since it was introduced in 2013.
