Laois Driver Caught Doing 129 km/h In A 80 km/h Zone

It comes as Gardai issue their final update on their Bank Holiday roads policing operation.

Four people died on the roads and twelve others were seriously injured over the June Bank Holiday weekend.

Gardaí have issued their final update from the roads policing operation today.

Over 4,600 motorists were caught speeding, including one driver travelling at 129 kilometers an hour in a 80 kilometer zone in Stradbally.

400 people were fined for holding a mobile phone and a further 110 were caught not wearing their seatbelts.

Gardaí say 209 people were arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs over the weekend.
