Bolt Bikes were introduced into the county last year.
Over 50 thousand kilometres have been cycled on Laois e-bikes since their launch in the county last year.
While the 'Laois Bolt Bikes' have made 25,000 separate trips since August 2024 according to the latest update from the Climate Action Section at Laois County Council.
Other sustainable travel projects for Portlaoise including the public bus service launched in February this year, has over 9,000 weekly trips.
Progress shown in the Climate Action Plan Implementation Report, shows after the first year there are still 7 of the 59 actions to deliver in Portlaoise’s Decarbonising Zone.
