A Councillor is calling for a relief scheme.
Lodged water is causing a serious safety concern for people in Laois.
Borris in Ossory and Mountmellick Councillor James Kelly, wants to see flood relief works at Roundwood Bridge on the R440 and at Drennans of Lacka.
The two locations are prone to flooding during periods of heavy rainfall, causing a significant safety risk to motorists and pedestrians.
Mr Kelly says the recent steady rainfall, is now making the issue more important:
