Laois Has Six New Confirmed Cases

A mushroom plant in Co Tipperary has also suspended its operations.

81 of the cases were confirmed in Co Kildare, more than any other county.

It went into lockdown along with Laois and Offaly a week ago after a surge in cases linked to outbreaks at meat processing factories.

Six new cases were confirmed in the O'Moore county yesterday.

A mushroom plant in Co Tipperary has also suspended its operations after 11 workers tested positive.

Sinn Féin TD for Kildare North Réada Cronin says employers large food processors should take a lesson from the heartbreak caused to the small businesses across the three counties forced to shut up shop.
