Midlands Regional Hospital Portlaoise is also getting 48 extra beds.
People in Laois are set to benefit from a brand new extension to the emergency department at the Midlands Regional Hospital in the county.
The hospital in Portlaoise has undergone a major expansion, which includes the addition of a new Medical Assessment Unit and Day Services building, as well as a €16 million extension to the adult and paediatric Emergency Department.
While an additional 48 more beds have been added to increase patient capacity.
