A learner driver in Laois has been arrested by Gardai after being caught speeding at 165 km/h while under the influence.
Laois Roads Policing Unit stopped the yellow BMW vehicle on the M7 yesterday, with a roadside drugs test confirming the driver was positive for cannabis and opioids.
They also found the motorist had no insurance and was an unaccompanied learner, with the vehicle being seized and towed.
They were brought before court in Tullamore yesterday morning.
