Laois Learners Could Be Waiting 7 Months For Driving Test

There's a huge backlog of applications following lockdown.

Some people are waiting up to seven months for a driving test in Laois.

Michael Hogan from Hogan's School of Motoring in Portlaoise says test centres are trying to clear the backlog after being shut for over four months earlier this year.

He says there's a huge degree of frustration, with some clients waiting up to 30 weeks, while others have been given no indication of when their test will be arranged.

He says the Road Safety Authority is doing its best to schedule priority tests at the moment:
