This comes as concerns have been raised by local residents.
A upcoming traffic calming survey near a new housing estate in Laois could prevent further 'near-miss' accidents.
That's the message from Cathaoirleach of Laois County Council Conor Bergin.
The survey will be carried out by the local authority near housing estates on the Rathdowney Road in Borris-In-Ossory after concerns raised by local residents.
Upon completion of the survey, a scheme for the measures will be drawn up such as installing new signage and speed ramps, and applying for government funding where necessary.
