Mark Murphy from Ballynan is raising funds for his Worlds journey.
A Laois man is set to represent Ireland at the World Powerlifting Championships.
Mark Murphy from Ballylynan has been selected for the Irish squad for the tournament which will take place in South Africa this November.
Due to the sport not being government funded, Mark and his partner Sarah Hayden have set up a GoFundMe to help cover the overall funds.
Mr Murphy says the total costs could amount to over two and a half thousand euro:
