Works are ongoing for the first half of year.
A date for the opening of the upgraded and extended Laois-Offaly Garda HQ has been confirmed.
The Office of Public Works have confirmed in a response to Laois TD Sean Fleming a target set with the contractor to complete the works at Portlaoise Garda Station for the first half of 2027 is on track.
A temporary office has been set up at the front of the former station while works are ongoing.
Some Gardaí are also operating from the Department of Agriculture Office in Grattan Business Centre and from Abbeyleix Garda Station.
