A Laois photographer is being shortlisted for Reach for the Stars Astrophotography Competition.
Paul Fetherstonhaugh's submission for the 'Out of this World' category documents astronomical objects and structures, from the Moon and planets to remote galaxies and nebulae.
Winners of the ‘Out of this World’ and ‘Back on Earth’ categories will receive a €500 photography equipment voucher, publication of their images on the DIAS and The Irish Times websites and passes to the Astronomical Observatories of Ireland.
One overall public choice winner will also be chosen through a public vote from all shortlisted entries across every category.
Voting remains open until 5pm on 13th July and is limited to one vote per person.
