The Garda Commissioner will be asked to explain the confusion about outdoor drinking at a meeting of the Laois Joint Policing Committee later today.

Gardaí say drinking alcohol in temporary outdoor locations isn't allowed if pubs and restaurants don't have a licence to do so.
