Laois Priest Believes Direct Provision Centre Will Improve Community Spirit

A Laois priest believes a direct provision centre in Tullamore will enhance the sense of community in the town.

It's been announced that accommodation for 168 asylum seekers will open in the Marian Hostel at the start of March.

A meeting will take place between the Department of Justice and local councillors this afternoon, after concerns were raised regarding the lack of a consultation process.
