Laois Resource Centre's Ophthalmology Service Sees First Paediatric Patient

The service will improve access for families.

A Laois Resource Centre is marking a milestone after seeing its first paediatric patient through its ophthalmology services.

The development marks the return of specialist eye care to The Treo Nua Resource Centre in Portlaoise.

The service will improve access for families while easing pressure on hospital waiting lists.

The centre supports a shift from acute hospital care to modern community settings, offering a range of services for all age groups.

The HSE confirmed that additional ophthalmology appointments will be introduced gradually as part of ongoing service plans.
