After five decades in business, a Laois retailer is announcing his retirement.
AJ Flynn menswear in Portlaoise is marking the end of an era for the local community as the shop is set to close with Alan Flynn's retirement.
His family opened the shop in the late 1960s, and while it doesn't yet have an exact closing date, he says it will be gradually winding down.
People are invited to enjoy special bargains in the coming months.
Mr Flynn took to social media to expressed gratitude for the generations of customers he has served.
He says it's the right time to step away:
