Funding has been approved under the Emergency Works Scheme.

Clough National School in Laois has gotten the green light for some upgrades.

Funding has been approved under the Emergency Works Scheme to update the school's heating system.

The cost of the work has not yet been finalised.

Welcoming the news, Junior Minister for Finance and Laois-Offaly Fianna Fáil TD, Seán Fleming said;

"I am very pleased this work has been approved for the school. With the winter months getting closer we need to know that the pupils and staff can attend the school and have the comfort of warm and comfortable rooms for learning.
