House prices are rising quicker in Laois than nearly anywhere else in the country.
The cost of a home in the county is on average 8.9% higher than 12 months ago, compared to a national average of 3%.
The figure is up 4.3% in Westmeath, 2.4% in Offaly.
The latest report by property website Daft.ie shows the average price of a home nationally is just under €445,000.
