Laois Support Services Welcome 'Jennie’s Law' To Name Domestic Abusers

The law allows domestic violence offenders to be listed on a public register.

Families of those affected by domestic abuse will benefit from a new law publicly naming those convicted of the offence.

That's the view of the Co-ordinator of Laois Support Services Against Domestic Abuse Marna Carroll, as Jennie's Law is set to go forward for Cabinet approval tomorrow.

The new law will allow those convicted of domestic violence against a current or former partner to be added to a public register managed by the Courts Service.

Their names can only be added through their victim's consent.
