Laois TD Calls For Action Over GP Capacity Shortages

According to the Taoiseach, €1 billion has been spent on general practices.

A Laois TD is calling for action over the lack of GP capacity in the county. 

Deputy Willie Aird says private patients are being left without consistent access to a full-time GP.

The Taoiseach says €1 billion has being spent annually on general practices, with a strategic review of the sector currently in progress.

Micheal Martin insists GP training places are up significantly since 2020.
