Brian Stanley says 74 people in the county under the Medical Card scheme have no access to GP services.
74 people in Laois under the Medical Card scheme have no access to a General Practitioner.
Only 40 of the 62 GPs practicing in Laois currently provide those services, with the county’s largest town, Portlaoise, still not having a primary care centre.
Independent TD for the county Brian Stanley believes the situation needs to be resolved soon.
He says not being able to provide basic GP care in local communities is causing financial problems:
