A Laois TD is looking for answers from the HSE after what he's describing as the incredible decision to change the location of an upgraded health centre in the county for a fourth time.
Brian Stanley is asking the head of the health service, Bernard Gloucester for an explanation in relation to their decision to update Mountrath's Health Centre on its current site.
In rejecting the current site in March of 2023, the HSE cited issues of right of way access, limited space, and the lack of a viable alternative temporary health care centre while works are underway.
Locations on the Portlaoise Road, the Castletown Road, and another close to the town centre in Mountrath have all been rejected.
