It follows the refusal of Seskin Renewable Energy's application for an eight turbine windfarm.
The lack of established guidelines or regulations governing wind turbines is being called out by a Laois TD.
Independent TD Brian Stanley is highlighting the issues of wind turbines being planned right across the area of the south Laois-Kilkenny border as well as areas of Offaly.
A recent application by Seskin Renewable Energy has been rejected for eight wind turbines with a ground to blade tip height of 175m and a blade length of 75m.
